A few months ago, stage and film actress Nargis had
announced that she would quit the entertainment and pursue religious education
instead. Nagris, after returning from a foreign tour revealed to the media that
she has decided to leave show business and will not perform on stage or work in
films. During the press conference she was wearing scarf and said that she
recently met Moulna Tariq Jameel and is interested in becoming an Islamic
scholar. She also requested all of her stage and film friends not to contact
her.
After the news was made public, I wondered what would become
of her show ‘Nargis and Naughty’ in which it was customary of her to dance
along with her guests at conclusion of the program. Surely being religious
means she would not be seen dancing on television again. Well, my questions
were answered last week when I came across her show in which Nargis sat with a
shawl wrapped around her, skinny jeans showing her slender legs and sporting a
headgear that looked similar to the turban worn by men of the Sikh community.
As the show approached its end, all of a sudden, she got up to dance alongside
her guest… surely old habits die hard!
